Collegium Westchester is interested in performing music of composers in our community. At present, money is not available for commissions. Preference will be given to music of residents of Westchester and surrounding communities, with talent and potential for musical growth.
Pieces we perform should be in a style accessible to our typical audience, and not too difficult to put together by a mix of professionals and accomplished avocational musicians with one rehearsal. Performance forces at our concerts range from chamber ensembles to 4-part chorus of at least 8 of sopranos, 8 altos, 6 tenors, and 6 basses, plus orchestra with pairs of flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, and trombones, plus 12 violins, 4 violas, 4 cellos, and 2 basses, plus percussion and/or keyboard. Ideal duration is anything up to 10 or 20 minutes, though longer pieces are not out of the question.
