Collegium Westchester Chorus and Orchestra evolved from the choir and guest instrumentalists brought together for a 1996 church concert and became incorporated as an independent, non-profit entity in 2000. It is modeled on the 17th century Collegium Musicum in that it combines active professional and accomplished avocational musicians into one ensemble, but its repertoire spans music composed from the 17th century to the present. Its instrumentalists and singers are drawn from Westchester County and elsewhere in the New York City metropolitan area, and many of its performers have played or sung with leading choruses and orchestras in New York and throughout the world.
